This woman faced spinal cord injuries in a crash after being involved in a crash due to poor service on her car. If you’ve faced an accident due to your car being misaligned or put back together wrong after a service visit in Texas, you may be able to seek compensation for your injuries.
A driver has said that after she had an oil change at a local Jiffy Lube Service. According to her lawsuit, she said that she took her 2001 Dodge Neon for an oil change and a servicing at Jiffy Lube. After she left the location, she was driving on Interstate 84 when her bakes would no longer work, and she realized she had no control over her vehicle’s acceleration or deceleration.
She claims she coasted in her vehicle for a number of miles before she took the exit at the Lloyd Center. When she tried to stop using her emergency brake, she was unable to. At that point, she crashed into the vehicle in front of her.
Her lawsuit claims that when she had her car inspected following the crash, a mechanic at Bradshaw’s Service Center discovered that her air filter had been installed incorrectly. Because of that, the throttle plate was forced open. The result of that was a high idle condition, and that left the woman unable to control her vehicle.
In the crash, the woman suffered cervical and thoracic spinal injuries. Her back injury has left her with potentially permanent injuries. She has suffered vertigo, nausea, and paresthesia. She would like to receive $1,000 for medical costs, $7,200 for pain and suffering and $1,800 for lost wages.
