I come from a family that didn’t have a lot of money. Most of my family members never even graduated high school. And, even if a certain amount of money was received, it was almost never enough to handle medical bills, lost wages, and other challenges.
The people I knew and grew up around were often taken advantage of. As I realized what was happening, I became determined to do what I could to make sure it stopped.
