Texas Car Accident Kills Four

On behalf of Lovett Law Firm posted in Car Accidents on Thursday, June 20, 2013.

When individuals experience problems with their vehicles on a busy roadway, they will often have to find a way to get out of traffic. Once on the side of the road or in a parking lot, they may try to examine their vehicles to determine what is wrong.

Unfortunately, many of these individuals are often injured by passing motorists. Drivers may be unaware that there are people located closely to the vehicle, and may not give the appropriate space when passing the stranded cars. Recently, a serious car accident in Texas claimed the lives of four people after a vehicle was stopped on the side of the road.

The accident happened in south Tarrant County. A disabled SUV had stopped on the side of the road, and a motorist driving a white truck had stopped behind the vehicle to offer assistance. Two individuals, who lived nearby, also approached to offer help.

It is unclear exactly what happened next, but two vehicles apparently collided with the white truck. The collision left several people injured, and resulted in the deaths of the three individuals offering assistance to the stranded motorist. The driver of the disabled vehicle also died.

The review of the crash is still ongoing. Investigators are trying to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash. Officials have opened a “source investigation,” which occurs when alcohol may have been provided to a minor.

This crash serves as an all-too-tragic reminder of the problems that can arise when a vehicle needs to stop because of mechanical issues. Even if these motorists take all necessary precautions, it might not be enough to prevent an accident.

Individuals who have been injured in or lost loved ones in car accidents may be eligible for compensation. They may wish to contact an experienced personal injury attorney to learn more about the claims that may be available for their specific situation.
