Rollover Accidents And Your Rights As A Victim

If you’re in an accident that forces your vehicle to roll over, you know that it can be dangerous for you and everyone else inside. Not only could you be injured by the impact, but you could also face injuries from things inside your vehicle. Rollover accidents can be caused by force; it’s more common to have one if you’re in a high-speed accident, for instance.
Rollovers can be caused by many things, from defects in a vehicle to a vehicle hitting something on the road. These complex crashes are violent in nature and can be correlated with the way the driver was handling the vehicle in the conditions present at the scene of the accident.
For example, the vehicle type is a major factor in a rollover. Narrow and tall vehicles are more likely to roll, whereas short vehicles that are wider do not. For instance, a large truck on the highway is tall and slim, making it more likely to tilt or roll on impact.
Speed is another factor in rollovers. Faster vehicles have a higher chance of spinning or flipping in an accident. Close to three out of four fatal rollovers are caused by people traveling at speeds of 55 mph or faster.
Routine driving is another potential cause of rollover accidents. Around 90 percent of vehicles involved in single-vehicle rollovers had been performing routine actions when the rollover took place. For instance, negotiating a curve too sharply could lead to an accident.
Another serious cause of rollovers is alcohol consumption. Even those who aren’t legally drunk can be slightly impaired, and that can reflect in the driver’s ability to maneuver the vehicle.
