Motorcyclists: You Can Seek Compensation After An Accident
On behalf of Lovett Law Firm posted in Motorcycle Accidents on Friday, April 22, 2016.
As a motorcyclist, you’re in a special position on the roads. You have more freedoms than those who drive cars or trucks in some ways, since your vehicle is smaller and can be maneuvered more freely. However, you are exposed to many other dangers that other people are not because of the design of your vehicle. For instance, without the barrier of a metal casing around your vehicle, you’re more likely to be injured or killed in an accident due to being directly impacted. Even if you aren’t killed, your injuries could be debilitating and take a lifetime to recover from.
There are a few unique problems you face on the roads. First, you’re a smaller visual target. That means you’re not as easily seen by other drivers, and that can mean you suffer accidents when others don’t.
Road hazards can be particularly dangerous for you. Things like potholes or gravel surfaces may not matter to a person in a car or truck, but for someone on a motorcycle, those same surfaces may become dangerous and cause slipping or skidding.
The front of a motorcycle is more likely to wobble at higher speeds; this wobbling motion could result in a crash. If that happens, you may be able to seek compensation from your motorcycle’s manufacturer.
