If you or your loved ones have struggled through a severe or fatal car accident, you probably know that you have to file a claim with the other person’s insurance to get compensated for your losses. It can be difficult when you’re mourning the loss of a loved one or have to work through your own injuries, which is why you may choose to work with your attorney. It’s important to discuss what happened to you, so you can be appropriately compensated and so the other party can have his or her negligence described in court. You may want to participate in both a civil and criminal cases, if a criminal case is filed.
After a fatal accident took place in Texas, a Texas State student was taken into custody. The student is accused of driving the wrong way on Interstate 35, causing an accident that killed four people. The 22-year-old man was driving a Honda when he struck a Ford Windstar on Feb. 19. Both vehicles reportedly flipped during the collision.
Four people died in the van, which was described as being heavily damaged on the driver’s side. The four people inside included a 16-month-old child, a 27-year-old woman and two men, ages 30 and 31. Two other children were in the Ford Windstar and were taken to the local Dell Children’s Medical Center for care. They survived the collision.
The 22-year-old man accused of causing the accident was seriously injured, which is why he has only been arrested now. At the moment, the police believe that alcohol played a part in the accident.
