El Paso, Texas, Motorcycle Accident Seriously Injures 1
On behalf of Lovett Law Firm posted in Motorcycle Accidents on Friday, March 14, 2014.
As winter begins to wind down, and the warmer weather of spring arrives, more people take to the road on their motorcycles. As a result, there are more motorcycle accidents, many of which cause serious injuries or even death. Many of these accidents are due to a motorist failing to see a motorcycle and pulling out in front of it. This is what happened in El Paso, Texas, on Feb. 27 and nearly cost the motorcyclist his life.
According to authorities, the 51-year-old man was riding his 2013 Harley Davidson on Trowbridge near Gateway North Boulevard. A 2006 PT cruiser was turning left onto Gateway North Boulevard and apparently didn’t see the motorcycle. The 41-year-old woman driving the PT Cruiser didn’t yield the right of way to the man on the motorcycle.
The motorcycle crashed into the car, throwing the driver off the motorcycle. The man was taken to University Medical Center with internal injuries and head injuries. His injuries were considered life-threatening. He wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The driver of the PT Cruise was not injured.
It wasn’t reported if the woman received any citations for the accident or if there will be charges forthcoming. The man’s current condition is not known, either.
Motorcycle accidents regularly cause serious injuries due to the unprotected nature of the driver and passengers. Those who are injured due to someone else’s negligence have a right to seek compensation for a variety of civil claims, including pain and suffering, medical bills, lost wages and other damages. An experienced Texas personal injury attorney can provide more information about these civil cases.
