Motorcycle Accident May Have Been Caused By Missed Traffic Light

On behalf of Lovett Law Firm posted in Motorcycle Accidents on Friday, May 30, 2014.

Drivers have to pay attention on the roadways; there are laws that make negligent behavior illegal, and distractions do count. From text messaging to cellphone usage, there are many things that can constitute a negligent behavior, and in some cases, negligence can lead to death.

Motorcycle accidents could be caused by a driver’s negligence, especially if a distraction prevents them from seeing a motorcyclist in an intersection or on a roadway. Take for instance this news report about a man who was killed when he was hit while driving his motorcycle.

The May 18 report states that the man was driving his vintage motorcycle at approximately 7:30 a.m. in the Woodlands in Texas when he was struck by a vehicle on Woodlands Parkway. He was discovered in a ditch nearby following the accident. The 46-year-old man was dead when the emergency services arrived.

According to the story, investigators believe that he was turning right onto Woodlands Parkway when he was struck, or hit, a 2014 Audi. The Audi was being driven by a 19-year-old male who was heading west on Woodlands Parkway. The 19-year-old has not made any claims that were reported to the news, and he wasn’t reported as being hurt following the accident.

Authorities have reported that the investigators are still trying to find out who made the mistake that cost this man his life. There was a traffic light at the intersection, and if the 19-year-old male ran a red light, he could be at fault for this accident. He could face criminal charges. Until the investigators are done with the accident investigation and an autopsy is complete, it’s not yet clear who had the right of way.
