Texas Woman Killed In Fiery Crash With Semi And Pickup Truck

A woman who worked for Tarleton State University was killed in a car accident. She worked in an administrative capacity with the athletic department at the school, and she was 57 years old.
The crash happened on Saturday, July 26, and it took place at about 3:15 in the afternoon.
The woman who was killed was apparently driving on U.S. Hwy. 281, in Texas, and she was heading south. She then slowed her vehicle in preparation for a left turn, trying to navigate onto County Road 505. These details come from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The accident began when a pickup truck going the same way did not slow down enough, and it rammed into the back end of the woman’s car. The impact threw the car forward and into the oncoming lanes. There, it was hit directly in a head-on collision by a semi truck that was coming from the other direction. The huge truck had a wide load on the trailer.
After that second collision, the woman’s car burst into flames. Officials said that the woman died at the scene of the accident.
However, there were three passengers in the car: The 32-year-old daughter of the driver, and two children, ages six and four. The daughter had to be airlifted from the scene, and she got treatment at the John Peter Smith Hospital, which is located in Fort Worth. The two children were taken to Texas Health Harris Stephenville.
The 22-year-old who was driving the pickup truck was a student at the university where the woman worked.
The medical bills from a serious car accident that involves multiple family members can be hard for the rest of the family to deal with, so they may want to look into legal compensation options.
