1 Killed, 7 Injured In Hit-And-Run And Chase Gone Wrong

Traffic accidents don’t always include other vehicles. Sometimes, a driver strikes pedestrians, grocery stores, restaurants or other buildings. When you’re a customer in these buildings, you have every right to be safe, but unfortunately, dangerous drivers can put your life at risk.

That’s what happened in this case in Texas. The news report updated on April 1 discusses how one person was killed and seven others were found injured following a crash involving a car and a grocery store. The driver, a 19-year-old man, was allegedly fleeing from a hit-and-run accident when he collided with the storefront.

After having the police called for the first crash, the young man and a passenger drove down Riverside Drive at high speeds clocked up to 100 mph. At one point, the man lost control, and that’s when his vehicle collided with Star Food Mart along Riverside Drive and East Lancaster Avenue.

The crash resulted in several people being trapped inside the building. Fort Worth firefighters on the scene had to stabilize the building as they worked to free the victims. There was a construction team nearby that was able to cut power to the building as well, helping reduce the risk of electrocution or fire.

One woman, a 24-year-old mother of three, was killed in the accident. The driver and his passenger were both injured as well, but they are expected to survive their injuries. Police have confirmed that the man driving was under the influence of a narcotic when the accident took place, and he now faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter for the death of the 24-year-old woman.
