Every time you get into your car, your life is at risk. You know that there is a certain amount of danger on the roads, but if you’re not distracted and drive safely, you should be safe. Unfortunately, not all drivers have safety in mind, and they can still cause accidents that leave you injured or dead. That’s what happened in this case when a woman drove through a red light and struck another vehicle.
The crash in El Paso left one woman dead and two others injured after their three vehicles collided. The report from June 28 states that it was around 11:20 p.m. when a 22-year-old woman didn’t stop at a red light. Her vehicle, a Ford Escort, struck a 1994 Nissan Sentra that was being driven by a 61-year-old woman from El Paso.
After the initial collision with the first vehicle, the 61-year-old woman’s vehicle crashed into another vehicle, a 2014 Ford Focus driven by a 23-year-old woman. She was not injured in the crash, fortunately. The woman who drove through the red light and the 29-year-old male passenger in her vehicle were both injured and had to be taken to a local hospital for treatment. The 61-year-old woman was killed.
Right now, police are still making a decision on the types of charges the 22-year-old woman will face. Until they decide, they won’t release any information about her, but they have reported that this is not the first time there has been a traffic fatality in the area this year. There have already been 26 fatalities in 2015.
