3 Teens Injured in Las Cruces Crash Involving Alcohol – Would You Have a Case?

May 25, 2018||

Car crashes caused by intoxicated teenagers are becoming more and more prevalent throughout west Texas and southern New Mexico, and these accidents typically result in serious injuries – or even death. Parents of teenagers injured in car accidents involving some form of impaired driving need to know their child’s rights, even if the child was also drinking in the car with the driver.

Recently (Sunday, May 13, 2018) in Las Cruces, three teenagers were involved in a horrific car crash that resulted in a closure of Triviz Drive near the 2005 block of Triviz and between Bentley Drive and north Main Street. While none of the injuries sustained are considered life-threatening, there are serious consequences on the horizon for some of those involved.

The driver, a 19-year-old-woman, was charged with both aggravated DWI and child abuse, and a warrant has been issued for her arrest. Police reports state that she was speeding and lost control of her Honda Civic while turning, which lead to the heinous crash.

The other two occupants – a second 19-year-old woman found lying on the ground with injuries to her head and right leg, and a 17-year-old-boy who had to be extracted from the car – both remain hospitalized.

Each of the three teens involved were found under the influence of alcohol, and various bottles of empty liquor were scattered about the demolished vehicle.

Now, despite the passengers making poor decisions prior to the crash, there is a chance they would be entitled to compensation due to the severity of the driver’s charges. If you were the parent of one of these teens, especially a minor, wouldn’t you want to know if you had a case?

Fortunately, Lovett Law Firm can help. Personal injury cases are serious, especially for young adults, and the financial assistance a settlement can provide is oftentimes the difference between taking out a second mortgage to pay the bills and using your hard-earned-and-deserved money to focus on your child’s future.

Rob Lovett has been in similar shoes before; he dedicated his life to law after watching his mother suffer through a terrible accident that didn’t result in a fair settlement. From then on, he made it his life’s mission to make sure that every single one of his clients never has to face the hardships his family had to endure as a result of the court’s decision. His goal is and always will be to get victims of personal injury back on their feet with a settlement they deserve.
