1 Killed In Fatal Collision On Cardinal Drive

Crashes can happen anywhere, but when there is a slowdown of traffic or other factors like construction taking place, the roads can be more dangerous. Drivers have a responsibility to be safe, though, and you shouldn’t have to worry about someone crashing into you from behind.
A number of crashes on Cardinal Drive has shown the importance of taking steps to correct dangerous roadways when possible and paying attention whenever a driver is inside a construction area. A June 20 report stated that one person was killed in an accident on the road in one of several accidents involving 12 total vehicles.
The Texas Department of Transportation has said that it plans to reconfigure lanes on the roadway and to put up a concrete barrier after four incidents took place in one day. The barrier will separate southbound traffic from a construction zone currently in place, which is hoping to address road erosion.
In the accident that took the man’s life, he, a 44-year-old, was a passenger in a Mercedes-Benz. A UPS van traveling behind the vehicle failed to stop when the other vehicle was slowing. The van then collided with the Mercedes-Benz. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz then rear-ended a Chrysler as it was forced forward into traffic. The 44-year-old man died in the collision as a result, and the driver of the Chrysler was hospitalized. Four more accidents took place that day in total.
Situations like this can be hazardous and deadly. If you’re struck by a negligent driver, you may be in a position to file a claim.
