A truck accident that leads to an injury can leave you without the ability to work or maintain your normal day-to-day life. You could face lifelong pain and suffering or need extensive rehabilitation. When you’re injured in a truck accident, you have options that you should be able to pursue. You may be able to seek compensation or work with others to seek a civil lawsuit against the person at fault.
When someone hits your vehicle, they should be held responsible, as in this case. A July 3 report states that a 29-year-old man was arrested for an accident that took place on July 2. That accident left an El Paso City code enforcement officer hurt. The officer has been in the hospital since the accident, as he suffered from serious injuries.
The crash happened at approximately 9:15 a.m., in the 8300 block of North Loop Drive. The report states that the 59-year-old city worker had been on a sidewalk standing close to a pickup truck when the accident took place. He was hit by a 2000 Lincoln Town Car as it drove over the curb and onto the sidewalk where the man was standing.
Following the accident, the man driving the Lincoln Town Car fled the scene. At that point, the police said they were able to apprehend him as he came into a nearby area. He was then arrested on the suspicion of causing an accident involving personal injury or death. They did not report on why the car left the roadway, but he could face additional charges if alcohol or negligence were behind the crash.
