Motorcycle Accident Kills 2, Injures 1 Severely In Texas
On behalf of Lovett Law Firm posted in Motorcycle Accidents on Friday, June 6, 2014.
Over this past Memorial Day weekend, two Texas motorcyclists were killed in a crash. The 51-year-old man who was killed was the vice president of the motorcycle club in Ardmore, Texas, called “Forsaken Few.” According to the Texas Highway Patrol, the man was headed north on FM 51 in Wise County when a Toyota four-door vehicle going south and passing in the no-passing zone struck him. The four-door vehicle also hit another motorcyclist.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He had a passenger on his vehicle, a 33-year-old woman, who also passed away, but later at the local hospital. The other biker, a 33-year-old man from Ringling, Texas, was seriously hurt in the crash. His current condition was not reported.
The motorcycle group has responded to the accident with positive messages about the victims. One woman in the group said that the 51-year-old man had always been a positive influence on the group, which does charity work and volunteer services. The group says it will continue doing good deeds in honor of the motorcyclists who passed away.
Law enforcement authorities have not yet released any identifying information on the driver of the four-door vehicle. Since the driver was reportedly in a no-passing zone when the accident occurred, he or she may be liable for the injuries and deaths caused. Police may need to further investigate before they can discuss the case or determine who was at fault.
Too many Texans lose loved ones in motorcycle accidents. If someone else is found to be at fault, family members may take steps to claim compensation, even though it won’t bring back the person you lost.
