Man’s Face Discovered In Car Wash; Woman Seeks Claim Over Trauma
On behalf of Lovett Law Firm posted in Truck Accidents on Friday, January 15, 2016.
In a shocking story out of Montana, a man driving to Texas to see his family was discovered dead on the side of the road. He’d been hit in several hit-and-run accidents, and his face was torn off. It wasn’t until a woman discovered his face in a car wash that police were called to the scene. This kind of accident affects many people, and it draws attention to how many people simply don’t care about a human life.
The woman claims that the truck that had initially hit the man fled the scene. The driver allegedly claimed that he had hit a duffle bag and clothing before leaving the scene. His co-worker was not told that a person had been struck.
According to the law, the truck driver should have reported the impact to law enforcement, but he simply left the body in the roadway. The man’s body was struck several more times, until a 31-year-old woman hit it with her pickup truck. She took her Ford to be cleaned in a car wash, which emphasizes the fact that she likely knew she’d hit a person, and then she allegedly washed a large part of the man’s face onto the car wash floor where it was later discovered.
The 45-year-old man driving the truck that struck the pedestrian, an 81-year-old man whose vehicle had gone off the road, has been found guilty of the hit and run, but he only served a deferred sentence. The woman who struck the man was charged with leaving the scene, and her father, 50, who was also in the vehicle, was charged with tampering with evidence.
The woman who discovered the man’s face has sought help from an attorney, and she is seeking medical expenses and damages for the emotional trauma she faced.
