El Paso Intersection Accident Leaves 10 Injured

Earlier this week, a serious car accident in El Paso left a total of 10 people injured, some seriously so. Not much has been released about the accident in news sources, but sources did say that the accident involved a Kia and a Ford Taurus. The vehicles reportedly crashed on Monday around noon when the man driving the Kia ran a red light at an intersection and crashed into the Taurus.
At the time, the Taurus had been carrying two women and five children. In addition, there were two pedestrians walking in the area at the time of the crash who became pinned underneath a car, forcing emergency crews to use car jacks and a Jaws of Life to remove them. One of those pedestrians suffered serious injuries.
Intersection accidents can occur for a number of reasons. These include illegal maneuvers, inattention, turning with an obstructed view, misjudging the gap of another vehicle’s speed while turning left, and false assumptions of another vehicle’s action while turning right. Sometimes drivers make honest mistakes. In other cases, they knowingly take a risky course of action.
Regardless of the reason these types of accidents occur, the consequences can be serious, even fatal. Injuries can range from cuts and bruises, to broken bones and head injury, to paralysis and death. Those who survive serious intersection accidents sometimes come away with crippling medical bills.
Because of the nature of intersection accidents, personal injuries cases based on them sometimes involve the question of whether more than one party was at fault. In such cases, it helps to have an advocate who understands the relevant law, as well as how to put together a persuasive case.
