If you’ve been injured in a trucking accident, you may be able to claim compensation for your injuries. Truck accident injuries can leave you hospitalized and in pain, so it’s important to know your options. This is especially true in cases like this one where multiple people were hurt by a random event.
The accident took place on May 21, according to the news, at approximately 2:15 a.m. The bus, which was coming from El Paso, Texas, and heading to Los Angeles, California, was only about three-quarters of the way through its trip. It’s believes that there were 33 people on the bus, and of them, seven were seriously hurt and 14 were hurt with minor injuries when a truck’s spilled cargo blocked the lanes.
The truck driver reported that he had been trying to pass slower vehicles, hit the dirt shoulder of the road and lost control of his vehicle. The cargo then spilled, and some of the pipes were reported as being as long as 50 feet. Unfortunately, because of the time of night, it would have been hard for vehicles to see the spilled pipes, and that led to accidents. With no lights on the interstate and only a half moon, the pipes were virtually invisible to drivers.
Two eastbound passenger vehicle hit the pipes, but no one was hurt, according to the police. Then, the bus entered the area and crashed, resulting in several injuries. According to the story, four passengers died from their injuries; however, they were not named and no information about them has been released.
In this kind of accident, it can be hard to know who to blame. An accident like this can leave you with severe injuries, though, so it’s important to look into your case. There may be multiple ways for you to seek and receive the money you need for your care, as well as compensation for your losses.
