1 Dead In Motorcycle-Car Accident In El Paso, Texas

Riding a motorcycle can be dangerous; at high speeds, you’re more likely to be thrown and to face broken bones or other serious injuries if you wreck. Because of the added danger of being on the roads on a motorcycle and not being seen, if you’re hurt or if you’ve lost a loved one in a recent crash, there’s a chance that you’ll be able to seek compensation when the other driver’s at fault.
In El Paso, a recent car crash left a motorcyclist dead after he suffered serious injuries. According to the news release from Oct. 21, the motorcyclist had been driving on Dyer Street when his vehicle, a 2009 Suzuki, collided with a 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe. The 23-year-old motorcyclist had been traveling at a high rate of speed, police reported, before the Hyundai’s driver turned the vehicle in front of the motorcyclist. Police were unable to say how fast the motorcyclist was going or if he had been breaking the speed limit at the time.
The 37-year-old driver of the Hyundai has not yet been held accountable for this crash, although he could be following the investigation. Police have said that the motorcyclist’s speed may have been part of the issue, although the driver did turn out in front of the motorcyclist by making a left turn into the lane. Police have said that the case is still under investigation at this time, and no one in the Hyundai was injured in the wreck.
Wrecks like this could be easily avoided with more time spent looking at the road and for motorcyclists. If you’ve been hurt while riding, it’s important to look into ways to seek compensation to cover your bills and lost wages.
